Testing season is quickly approaching!
This year, our 9th and 10th Grade students will take the FSA ELA test (both Writing and Reading subtests) through their English classes. We will begin administration of the FSA Writing subtest on Thursday, March 1st; this is a 1-day test. The FSA ELA Reading subtests will be administered between Monday, April 16th and Tuesday, April 24th; this is a 2-day test.
FSA Algebra and Geometry students will test through their math classes. Mathematics testing begins on Monday, May 7th and finishes on Tuesday, May 15th.
Lake Gibson will be on modified block schedules during FSA testing. It is very important to remember to get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast before your test. It is also a good idea to dress in layers; bring a sweater so you can be comfortable during testing. The FSA ELA and Algebra I test are both graduation requirements and all testing will determine your class placement in the future. We are confident that our students will continue to achieve high scores and build a foundation for postsecondary success. Remember, at Lake Gibson High School, our students come first.
