Polk State College Scholarships

1.       Polk State College Foundation Scholarships
With a handful of exceptions, most scholarships offered through the Polk State College Foundation can be applied for using one application. The application, accessible at http://foundation.polk.edu/scholarships/ is open now through March 15, 2019. This is currently our only application period each year for these scholarships, so we encourage any high school senior who might attend Polk State College in the fall to complete the application in order to see which scholarships s/he may qualify for.

2.    Public Service Scholar Ambassadors (PSSA) Scholarships

This scholarship is one of the most prestigious and competitive that the College offers.  It is also one of the most valuable scholarships at Polk State College, as it pays for a full 60 credit hours (e.g. an Associate in Arts degree). Students apply for this scholarship in the spring of their junior year and then they are ambassadors beginning their senior year of high school. For consideration, students must submit the attached PSSA Scholarship application and all of the required documents in the application packet no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 15, 2019.

Thanks for all that you do to support Polk State College in your schools!

She graduated from high school, finished college and then got a job. Jayda was an extraordinary young woman who had an amazing impression on many lives. USFSP Information

Happy October! We wanted to reach out with some information we hope you'll share with your students.

  • USF St. Petersburg is hosting a special Campus Tour this Saturday, Oct. 6. Students can click here to register.
  • Students taking the SAT this Saturday should use USFSP's College Board Code of 5828 to share their scores with us. Click here for some helpful day-of-exam tips.
  • Finally, the FAFSA opened this week. Interested students should use USFSP's institutional code of 001537 to ensure we receive their results.

With college affordability top of mind for so many students, USFSP is proud to offer one of the lowest tuition rates in Florida

And don't forget about the scholarships. A whopping 84% of our full-time freshmen received some form of merit- or need-based financial aid last year.

Affordable price tag, big advantages. At USFSP, students enjoy all of the resources of a large university with the support and individual attention that only a smaller school can offer.

What's next? Interested students should apply before our Nov. 1 Priority Deadline. After that, our admissions criteria will become more selective.

Thanks so much for your help in promoting these opportunities!

Kind Regards,

The Undergraduate Admissions Team

STEM Event at GCU
**Special event for engineering, technology, and pre-health students!!
Discover GCU is our all-expense paid preview day event for seniors who are accepted to GCU (we cover airfare, meals, and overnight stay in an on-campus dorm). Nearly every weekend we welcome high school students from around the country to visit the campus, and once to twice a month I personally travel with groups of students from central Florida to the campus in Phoenix on select dates.
Most Discover GCU events are for all academic programs, but on November 8th-10th the event is specifically for students interested in an engineering, technology, or pre-health program. We will highlight these programs, and students will have a more in-depth look at what it means to be a STEM student at GCU.
Among the incentives for students to study STEM-related majors at GCU include new engineering buildings and laboratories, state of the art technology machinery and equipment, a modern nursing simulation floor, cadaver labs, and scholarships specifically for students studying computer science, engineering, and technology. It’s an exciting time to be a student studying a STEM-related field at GCU!
I live in Orlando to work closely with students and high schools in central Florida, so please don’t hesitate to contact me directly if you know of students wanting to apply to GCU (no application fee) or who may be interested in a program we offer. I’d be more than happy to meet you or the student face-to-face! And remember, GCU HAS NO OUT-OF-STATE TUITION.
Thanks for your time, and have a great day! =)
