Wrapping Up Warped Tour
Vans Warped Tour is a rock music tour that annually travels around the world. It was first sponsored by Vans off the Wall, hence the name, then by other sponsors along the way. Warped Tour first focused on alternative rock music, but now has punk rock bands play as well. It started in 1995, and this year will be their last year touring. Of course, many fans were asking “why?” A founder of this favored tour, Kevin Lyman, announced publicly that 2018 will be the last year they are touring simply because they are tired of funding and placing it every year. At this music tour, performances aren’t the only events that take place. At Warped tour you can help feed children or help families around the world by donating three canned goods, $5.00 donation, and/or one used cell phone in return for an Express Entry wristband; and if you give blood with the American Red Cross, you can get VIP access. An express entry wristband is a wristband the allows a concert-goer to skip the line and get in first. No need to worry about dehydrating at this event, they make sure there are food concession stands, low prices water, shaded areas/tents, and vending machines at every show. To add on even more fun, as long as the weather that day permits, they even have Slip and Slides. Due to Vans Warped Tour ending, there will be a four-part documentary on the legacy of Warped Tour. This documentary is set to be releases in the summer of 2019, along with a celebration taking place to honor Vans Warped Tour’s 25th year anniversary.
