Rise of the Great Pumpkin By Lacey Fitzpatrick

As the ghouls groan and the witches cackle, we feel spooky season in its full effects. The Braves have a particular Halloween tradition known as the Rise of the Great Pumpkin. This event provides children of all ages with a safe and fun trick-or-treating experience. It will be held at the Virgil Ramage Football Stadium here on campus.

Our school has been hosting this event for more than 20 years. This years function will take place on October 30th, from 6 to 8pm. Admission is 20 cents for five tickets, or five tickets for a dollar. All proceeds go to the United Way. The tickets are used to partake in the Halloween themed activities where children can play games and win candy from the booths. The booths are run by a variety of the school organizations such as HOSA, who will have a life size operation game, FFA running a hayride, and JROTC, who will run an obstacle course and many more.

The function is also a fun and easy way for students to add to their community service hours. So, get your friends, family, and costumes and get ready for this exciting event
