From Jersey to Florida by Eli Allen

Malik Copper coaches as The Braves take on the Palmetto Tigers.

LG has a new face on campus this year.  Language Arts Teacher and Defensive backs coach, Malik Copper, makes his way into the LG Braves family. Originally from Patterson, New Jersey, Copper, was born and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey. When speaking with him on the past, he tells The Spear that he coached previously at an all boys prep school named Don Bosco, in Ramsey, New Jersey. Copper loves to inspire young men and he loves the game of football. Copper played college football for five years in Springfield, Massachusetts at American International College. When The Spear asked who influences his coaching, Copper stated, “I love Herm Edwards, I really like his energy and passion for the game.” Copper learned about the coaching opportunity from a previous coach at LG, who he coached with at Don Bosco. Coach Copper is excited to begin this new chapter in his life with us here at the Reservation, so if you see him in the halls make sure to welcome him to his new home at LG.
