Christmas is rapidly approaching and holiday movies are beginning to pop up on the Hallmark Channel and Netflix, but none of them look familiar and they all seem cheesy. So wipe the dust off the old Christmas DVDs. Here are two lists of the top 5 Christmas movies before the year 2000 and after the year 2000 according to axs.com a digital marketing website.

Before 2000:

1. Home Alone! (1990)

2. The Night Before Christmas (1993)

3. Santa Clause (1994)

4. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

5. Jingle All the Way (1996)

After 2000:

1. “Love Actually” (2003)

2. “Elf” (2003)

3. “Arthur Christmas” (2011)

4. “The Polar Express” (2004)

5. “Rare Experts: A Christmas Story” (2003)

A poll was created to find out what LG student’s favorite Christmas movies are to watch and “How the Grinch stole Christmas” and “Elf” were the top two and “A Christmas story” came in at 3rd. Ryleigh Price says, “Elf” is her favorite movie because it is “really funny” and there is a lot of imaginative characteristics. Dominick Rosado says “Polar Express” is his favorite Christmas movie because he likes the “creative story line.” There are thousands of Christmas movies, some not as popular as others but there is a Christmas movie out there for everyone, ranging from old classics to newer classics. Go get pour a cup of hot chocolate and find the perfect Christmas movie for this Holiday season.
