Black History Month Essay contest from the Lakeland Magic
|Calling all students! To recognize Black History Month, the Lakeland Magic have opened an essay contest to the students of Polk County. To enter, students are required to submit an essay describing what Black History Month means to them.
The contest is open to all students grades K-12. One grand prize winner from Elementary, Middle and High School will be selected to receive four courtside seats and be recognized at halftime during the Sunday, March 3 Lakeland Magic game.
As a thank you for entering, all students that submit an essay will receive two complimentary tickets to the Sunday, March 3 Lakeland Magic game. All essays are due to the Polk Education Foundation via school district courier system, Route E, by Friday, February 22.
Plus, don’t miss out on Teacher Appreciation Night on March 19. All teachers and school related employees get in free. Purchase additional tickets for $5.
